Documents are now available for growers and packing facilities for 2020 export programs. Registration and participation is required for growers and packers shipping to:
- China
- Japan
- Thailand
- The European Union (EU) (New for 2020; as yet unconfirmed)
Below you will find the documents you will need if you are a grower or you have a packing facility, and wish to export cherries to any of these four destinations. The deadline for submission of your paperwork to the CFIA and to the BCCA is 4pm on March 27, 2020. Applications received after this date will be rejected. Because the EU is still deliberating on what will be required of cherry exports to those countries, the CFIA has included the proposed EU trapping program for Cherry Fruitworm in the program documents so Canadian growers are ready. We will know more about whether we will be required to implement this program by the end of March, but for now, if you plan to export to the EU, please fill out the necessary documents (compliance agreement & BCCA payment page). You will not be charged for this program if it does not run.
