Cherry Pie Crumb Bars
These are a super easy sweat treat to make for any cherry lover out there!
Ingredients
½ cup butter, melted then cooled to room temperature
½ cup sugar
1½ cup flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
2 cups fresh cherries, pitted then cut in half
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp sugar
Instructions
- Pit and cut cherries in half
- Add cornstarch and lemon juice, mix till all cherries are coated, set aside
- Once melted butter is cool, mix in sugar
- Add flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt to the butter-sugar mixture, mix together until it resembles crumbs
- Line a 9″ baking pan with parchment paper and press ¾ of the crumble into the bottom
- Spread the cherry mixture evenly over the ‘crust’
- Sprinkle the remaining crumble over the cherry mixture, then sprinkle 1 tsp of sugar on top of that
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes at 375F, until golden brown
- Let cool completely before cutting into squares
