Chunky Cherry Syrup

Ingredients

2 cups pitted cherries

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup + 1Tbsp water (keep separate)

1 Tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Add pitted cherries, 1/2 cup water, sugar to a pot, bring to a simmer
  2. Mix cornstarch and 1Tbsp water together
  3. Once cherry mixture is bubbling, stir in cornstarch slurry
  4. Stir on heat for about 1 minute
  5. Remove from heat, let cool slightly
  6. Serve over pancakes or waffles while hot or let cool and use on icecream
